Truly, we cannot recommend this boat, crew and tour highly enough. No one was loud or rowdy (which we've had before), and the food and drink selection on our way back to the dock made for a nice relaxed ride. What really sealed the deal for my wife and I was how relaxed, low key and fun the trip was. I didn't see them personally, but apparently five manatees were spotted near our boat. The water was a little murky due to moderately high surf in the area, but at the same time was so warm. Joe and Marisa explained these were sponges and a type of coral. In the snorkeling area, we got to see tropical fish and what almost looked like pottery on the sea floor as well as some circular black objects. It was both cool and eerie at the same time. We also got to see a couple of partially sunken vessels that had come to rest in the waters off of Key West. They also distributed noodles which I was tempted to refuse at first, but found out what a help they were stabilizing me and keeping me afloat while I looked down into the water. When we got to the snorkeling area, my wife and I really appreciated their explanation for how to exit the boat safely and how to handle the snorkeling gear. Marisa was constantly checking with everyone aboard if we needed food or beverage. He never talked down to us or made us feel like uncomfortable, it was more like I need to tell you these things for your information and safety. Right at the start, Joe told us about our boat and what to do if we ran into any problems. Joe, our captain and his teammate, Marisa, were absolute professionals. Despite that, we both absolutely, thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the ride. Booked as both a dolphin and snorkeling tour, the only real disappointment we had is the dolphins would not come say hi during the tour. You might get a little wet but it's worth it :) Would definitely recommend the cruise to family and friends and would definitely do it again ourselves!Īs part of our visit to Key West, my wife and I got to experience this tour. ![]() Highly recommend going to relax on the net between the two bows at the front if you like a little adventure. We enjoyed a gorgeous Key West sunset on the water, plenty of apps & drinks, and good conversation with the other guests and crew for the two hours duration. There was unlimited select beer, wine, and champagne, as well as a beautiful assortment of cheeses, smoked fish dip (delicious!) and fruit. Masks were required to be worn until the boat was away from the docks for proper air flow/circulation. Morgan and crew also assured us the boat is disinfected between groups and hand sanitizer was readily available at all times. The capacity was maxed out at 10 people to ensure social distancing was possible. This was such an awesome experience! I have to admit I was skeptical about social distancing at first, but there was plenty of space on the boat.

Because of this, it is prudent to install additional protection on your Mac in the form of antivirus software from a trusted provider. But recent studies have suggested that Mac malware is seeing enormous growth, and although Apple has increased security features and introduced Gatekeeper, which blocks unapproved software from running on your Mac without your agreement, Mac security features have been bypassed. ![]() Historically Macs have been considered safer than Windows PCs, and many Mac users have done without an antivirus software. Mobile security apps can ensure greater protection than the iPhone affords on its own, through features like hacked account alerts, identity theft protection, password management, safe browsing, and backups. This is a major advantage Apple has over its competitors as far as security is concerned, as evidenced by the issues the Google Play Store has seen with fake, malware-containing apps.ĭespite this fact, iPhone users would be wise to add additional security to their phones through a mobile security app. Because of this, the chances of one of these apps containing malware is very slim. Importance of Using Antivirus for iPhone DevicesĪs most iPhone users know, Apple takes a walled-garden approach to app publishing, allowing only approved apps into the App Store. Some people describe this as the ‘half glass full’ mentality,” says Dr. “Optimism is a mindset that enables people to view the world, other people and events in the most favorable, positive light possible. In fact, experts claim that the real difference between optimists and pessimists isn’t in their level of happiness or in how they perceive a situation, but in how they cope. Science shows that those with an optimistic outlook have better cardiovascular health and a stronger immune system, earn a higher income and have more successful relationships. And while optimists are usually pegged as those who only see the positive in every situation, experts say that’s not true, either. But while one can breed the other, they aren’t the same thing. “When we work with purpose or live with purpose, we feel more fulfilled and better equipped to see the glass ‘half full.’” Redefining Optimism Anyone can learn to be optimistic - the trick is to find purpose in work and life,” says Leah Weiss, Ph.D, a Stanford professor specializing in mindfulness in the workplace. “Some people are optimistic by nature, but many of us learn optimism as well. So if you’re someone who tends to see the negative in a given situation, there's hope. Yet that still leaves a solid amount of wiggle room for us to develop a more optimistic outlook as adults. ![]() Studies show that optimism is about 25 percent inheritable, and then there are other factors that affect our positivity - like socioeconomic status - that are often out of our control. It's hard to be emotionally open and hopeful when that is not being modeled for you by your caretakers.”īut if you recognize yourself as someone who tends to default to the negative, your childhood isn’t completely to blame. But if the home environment is tense and filled with dysfunction, optimism is one of the first things to go. If the atmosphere is relaxed and loving, children blossom even if they innately have a tendency towards anxiety. “From an early age, babies and children pick up the emotional vibes in their homes. “From my experience, optimism is both a personality trait and a product of our environment,” says Karol Ward, LCSW, a licensed psychotherapist. ![]() King Cailan and Duncan were slain and their troops massacred, leaving only two Grey Wardens in all of Ferelden. Then, Loghain ordered his forces to retreat, abandoning the rest of the army in the valley beneath Ostagar. Those tasked with lighting the beacon had to fight their way to the top and pit themselves against an ogre before they could complete their mission. King Cailan ordered Alistair and the Warden to light a beacon atop the Tower of Ishal, a signal for Loghain Mac Tir and his troops to charge and rush the flanks of the darkspawn already engaged with Cailan's forces.Īll did not go according to plan, however, as darkspawn swarmed the tower from subterranean tunnels. After The Warden underwent the Joining alongside Daveth and Ser Jory, it was time for the final plans to be made for the battle. Before the Warden arrived with Duncan, the armies under King Cailan had already defeated two waves of darkspawn. Ostagar was the staging ground for the armies of Ferelden to battle the Fifth Blight. Ostagar remains a testament to the power of the Tevinter Imperium. During the Dragon Age, it's been noted that no troops have been stationed in the area for four centuries, though most of the walls still stand, as does the dwarven-made Tower of Ishal which is named after the Archon who ordered its construction. The Chasind influence furthermore diminished as Ferelden formed into a sovereign nation. They experienced a major defeat at the hand of Hafter after the Second Blight, largely ending their ability to invade the lowlands. ![]() Over the ages, the Chasind threat has dwindled. In -184 Ancient, the Chasind claimed the fortress for themselves. However, like most southern Imperial holdings, Ostagar was abandoned after Tevinter's collapse during the First Blight. Ostagar also served as a site of magical experimentation, similarly to Aeonar in the north, which was connected to Ostagar via the Imperial Highway. Ostagar proved to be exceedingly difficult to attack due to its naturally defensible position. Since the fortress is located beside a narrow pass in the hills, the Chasind would need to pass by it to access fertile lowlands in the north. Standing at the edge of the Korcari Wilds, its Tevinter garrisons watched for any signs of invasion by the Chasind barbarians. ![]() The fortress of Ostagar was the furthermost asset that the Imperium owned in the southeast portion of the continent. Eventually, it managed to seize control over the area and extend the Imperial Highway across the Frostback Mountains all the way to Ostagar.
